Persuasions: PHASE 1

So after months of fiddling with it, I’ve finally decided to knuckle-down and launch this little thing I’ve been working with called “Persuasions.” You can find it in the EXTRA section of the Anti-Heroes site.

It’s an online gay erotic cartoon soap opera! …

I’ve always liked the soaps and I’ve always wanted to create something similar. I figured since there aren’t really any gay ones out there, I’d try that out.

The format is inspired by video games (hello, it’s ME!) Particularly RPGs or any game with a story mode where you see little icons representing the character that’s speaking. I love it when their facial expressions change according to their emotion.

Also, with Persuasions, I figured I’d give you guys a taste of my erotic writing. You know, I used to write and illustrate X-Men slash fiction and it was pretty well received on the internet. Of course, then I went through a “boycott all fan-art” phase and took all the stories offline. Wish I could find them– or better yet, the drawings I did with them.

Many of the illustrations in Persuasions were created specifically for the series. Some of them, I ended up being so proud of that I’ve started using them as promotional pieces. Particularly the one with Preston and Marq on the bed and the one with Brody and Seb in the shower. There is also one XXX pic that I REALLY REALLY like embedded within the story that I’m not including here on the blog. Why? Incentive for you guys to read the story!

There are also some older illustrations sprinkled throughout PHASE 1, some with new things added. This is because I really wanted to include some of my previously created characters in the story instead of making all new ones.

So hopefully, someone out there will find this series compelling– or hot. Either is fine with me. This is only PHASE 1, meaning that I will put out more installments in the future. I’ve got plans loosely strung about in my head, but am open to suggestions. For instance, like if you guys really despise a particular character, I’ll kill them off.

    Hi JC,

Afetr going through everything that I have missed out on over the past few months as I have with Patrick’s Blog, All I have to say and I said the same to Patrick, is that your work has really improved over the past 5 or so months and you really deserve a huge pat on the back for it.

From my point of view, when I first noticed Anti Heroes, they all had a look of cheekiness about them, now that I look at your recent work, you have also seem to have embedded emotion to them also, this is giving them all their own sense of character and making them more “human.”

I don’t expect everyone or anyone to agree with me, but again this comes from not having the chance to look at you work (or Patrick’s) for a few months because of time restraints on my side of the fence.

Great work, and keep it up, your guys are developing their own characteristics now and I am keen to see where that will take them.

    I love it!

Hey, i Think its a great idea. I know i would love to see a gay soap. I’m a fan of some soaps, so i think it would be pretty cool to see somone actually tackle the idea of a gay soap. Its never been done. Beat down the Hetero-sexuality that mostly dominates the soap world. Sure there are some tad bits and peices of homo-love in some soaps.. but not nearly enough, i want more! *Drools* Go for it! *cheers, wipes drool*

Hooray for comments! Thanks for the compliments Ikkian and Frater Gymnos.

Whats up Manny. I’m glad that you’ve noticed the improvement in my work. I am paying more attention to lighting and spending a lot more time in Photoshop perfecting the colors. As for these guys’ emotion, you’re right– I’m definetely going for a moody feeling with Persuasions. Although, being a comic artist, I dunno if I could ever get TOO serious with it. There always has to be a touch of whimsy in this stuff, IMO. Thanx for stoppin’ by.

Yo Dig. Yeah it would be cool if there was a real gay soap on TV. Who knows– theres all these gay networks now that might be airing them. I cant get those channels though becasue my cable company is evil and tyrannical. lol.

Remember in the 90s when soaps started getting really racy? I remember you could get man-ass almost everyday on some of them. Theyve curtailed it nowadays though. Thanks for commenting!

    JC,

You may think that your just a comic book artist, others like myself think your an ARTIST!

The best advice I can give you about not getting too serious about the emotions, is to just let nature take it’s course and not try at all. You’d be amazed what will happen from there.

    Hey JC…

WOW! Dude, that must have been a S**TLOAD of hard work! What you’ve done is absolutely brilliant, and so completely involved and in depth. I am very impressed.

The characters are gorgeous (as always) and the illustrations you’ve created for this are really really beautiful. I love how you’ve been playing with lighting and coloring. It’s all so dynamic. Real eye candy! :oD

I have to say this is some of your hottest stuff to date. I think you have me hooked! LOL!

Brody and Preston are FREAKIN’ HOT — and I love how you tattooed “Anti-Hero” on Preston! That’s a really fun nod to your other series.

In any case, AMAZING job, dude. I can’t believe it, but for the first time ever (since maybe Dark Shadows) I’m interested in a Soap! LOL!!!

Well done! Looking forward to seeing more!
    Hugz + Kisses,
    Patrick XOXOX

PS — I also noticed that you have some new material on your site from Anti-Heroes #3. I am so pleased because as you know, I’ve been DYING for the continuation of your series! Looking forward to that big time as well! XOXO

I’m so glad you decided to go forward with this project! ^^ I’m totally psyched man! ^_^ You really are becoming my favorite artist. =) Nobody draws hot, hairy-chested, big-nippled studs like you do. Anyway, I can’t wait! I’m gonna read it right now!

  • JC says:

You’re right, Manny– that is what I usually do. Just crank it out and whatever form it takes will end up being correct. It’s funny becasue I have some Anti-Heroes stories planned out that I originally wanted to be more serious than the 1st couple books. But after writing much of them out, I just unconsciously crammed random jokes in them. That’t just me, I guess.

Hey Patrick! Yeah it was time-consuming- but fun nonetheless. Preston’s tats really make the character. I always do them last and always dread it, but after I get them done, he seems to get 10 times hotter!

And yeah, now that I’ve gotten the Persuasions bug outta my system (for now), I’m going to get back to work on Anti-Heroes. I really needed to take a short break from AH to remember that I liked it– haha.

Hey Dreamerboy! ^___^ I’m glad you like hairy-chested, big-nippled hotties as much as I do! lol. Check out the one I just posted– the fireman! Thanks for commenting!

It’s been a while since I had time to drop by for a visit, and I can see that you just keep right growing your art and exploding our eyeballs, not that I or anyone else is complaining. Great work, and the kudos are well deserved.

On another note, we have followed in your footsteps, after more idiocy on ‘that site’ that we don’t need to mention, and we have closed our gallery there, as well. We thought we could at least maintain a marginal presence there, but the concerted effort to push us out, as SushiY accurately pointed out, was more than we wanted to fight. And, we find ourselves in such lovely company, with you and Patrick F, among others. To be in such august company is something with which we can live.

Again, great work, and by the way, was that one of your boys I saw putting up a ladder to the wall of the Prefect’s dormitory at St. Precocious Academy, the other night?

  • JC says:

Hey Kristophe. Sorry to hear about your troubles on “that site” but honestly, I thought you’d left a long time ago. I had no idea u were still there. Well, just know that u still have support from me and your loyal fans!

  • Kristophe says:

Thanks for the support. We reduced our participation and decided to use it as more of a ‘billboard’ for our site, but the mods wanted us gone as much for our unwillingness to lie down and take abuse as for our input on Patrick’s page. This gives us more free time, which is always needed.

Best to you, and keep up the great work!

    KJ
