I’ve always had a thing for superheroes in vulnerable moments. Ripped costumes, visible wounds, a solemn expression– it all really does it for me! Maybe it’s because it makes them seem a tad more human– brings them down to our level. Whatever the reason, I’ve had this image stuck in my head for months and just had to get it down on paper!

This was for the guy who got all those commissioned pieces of his character All-American and all his sexy cohorts. It’s a genuine fan-art piece on my part as it was totally unsolicited.

It’s purposely ambiguous as to what exactly happened to these boys to bring them to this point. It could have been a really bad-ass supervillain– or a conglomeration of a bunch of supervillains!… or a natural disaster– or a manmade disaster!… or some fantastic Godzilla / Cthulhu-type creature!! Maybe they lost… or maybe they won but had to sacrifice something very dear to them! Who knows?! All I really wanted going in was to capture an emotion. I wanted to rough them up a little and make it feel like some unnecessary violence just transpired.

As for the rough and gritty coloring job, I wanted it to reflect the mood of the moment. And originally, I envisioned sunset lighting but the end result just wound up looking a bit like a nuclear bomb went off in the sky… which I guess could work too, storywise. heh. Comments appreciated!

I love The Rebel’s kee-yoot ickle bum, and his expression suggests he’s the only one who’s actually realised the sexual potential of the current situation, but isn’t sure how he should bring up the idea.

    “Hum… post-apocalyptic orgy… anyone?”

All-American is looking very thoughtful and hunky hehe, I just wanna give him a hug (amongst other services)! Is it me or does he seem just a little ‘larger’ than before… No complaints here! ^-^

Plus I don’t know whether it was intentional or not, but I like how Kid Sonic has lost the rock hard six-pack – I think it suits him better haha. I must say however, something about the pose suggests ‘Disco Fever’ – yet maybe its just the flyaway lapels making it hard to take him seriously lol.

Anyway time to take my oar firmly out. Overally, nice piece of work, and as ever, looking forward to more 😀 I think maybe you should show them all cheering each other up next… if you catch my drift haha!

    Hey JC

It certainly looks as though they went through one hell of an ordeal. What I like most is the atmosphere of the pic. It’s like the chaos is over, the dust has settled, and all is quiet, as if they are contemplating what they had just been through. It would be nice and certainly interesting to see a follow up pic. Great work mate.

    Take care!

Perhaps they all encountered Chubtoon’s Futomaro(i totally misspelled that)?

  • Chubtoons says:

Hehe. Looks like they stopped in the middle of the Acockalypse to wait in line outside the only club that wasn’t destroyed. You can tell they’re all thinking the same thing: “Well, we are mostly naked and have all this free time…”

I’m affraid Futo’s allready inside the club. 🙂

Why can’t heroes keep their costumes intact for very long? Because they look this frikkin’ HAWT in tatters! LOL! YUMMY!!!!

Yet another brilliant piece! Your client must be ecstatic with this series!

    Brilliant as always!

I KNOW– Z-Maker– don’t you totally want to “console” them all?! haha!

LOL @ what you say about Kid Sonic, Wabbit! Even though the similarities completely unintentional, I do have a fondness for 70’s clothes. My mom says “that’s only because you weren’t around” but I stand by my theory that if 70’s clothes came back, I’d friggin’ lead the movement!

I worked hard on the atmos of the pic, Reikro– so thanks. It’s like war-torn and disastrous– but at the same time, I hope the sense that it’s over and done also comes across.

haha– leave it to guys who like gay superheroes to think about clubbing amidst the destruction of their city! LOL. Yeah, maybe what happened was Futomara threw an insane circuit party and the city just spontaneously exploded from the raunch of the night! Thanks for the commentaries guys, rdot and chubtoons.

Yeah, Patrick, those guys can’t keep their cocks in their pants if they tried! What with so much world saving, who has the time to make sure their junk is covered up? hehe!

I really like the looser style on this one – the slight roughness of the sketching, etc. For me, it has something the smoother pics lack. But love all this work – such fun!
