Erotic Art of Joey St. John

I’d like to introduce my audience to my good friend Joey St. John, an erotica artist I met at our gay life drawing group over a decade ago. Joey’s art fascinates me because he’s like me in a few respects: We go through the motions of academic figure drawing and navigating the somewhat pretentious world of gay fine art in NYC, but our passion is in much more imaginative, much more commercial-looking erotic art.

Oddly not many of our peers are into comics and animation and many look down on these contemporary forms of art. Joey and I understand how classically rendered male anatomy can intersect with modern erotic illustration.

I appreciate how fun and fantastical his comics get. He’s also a big ol’ perv, like me- lol. Check out his new site and lookout for our collaboration project (I’m dipping my toes back into sequential art again!) which will combine his Santa with my St.Nick Jr. and a bunch of horny little elves!

Saw It Coming

Check out my best and newest inflation piece, commissioned by Shoker, a fellow erotica artist whom I’ve worked with before. He provides detailed sketches for me to work from so I can’t take credit for much of the idea or composition. But I like to think I’ve added something. 😉

I resisted putting the screen with the Billy the Puppet in there for much of this piece’s conception. Gave myself every reason why he shouldn’t be there. Of course, now it’s my favorite part of the drawing- haha!

SuperDaddy

Drew Supes in traditional media for my last show knowing he’d sell. When I showed the buyer all the process pics of the piece on my phone, he admitted liking a version before I added all that epic body hair. So I said I’d shoot him over a digital smooth version, but of course, while putting that together, I got the urge to add another version. So enjoy my first shot at Black Superman! Mimic RemiX

Moved ALL the Members/Archive Gallery content from my X-Men RemiX section over to Patreon! And to celebrate, here’s a surprise new character: MIMIC! Calvin Rankin comes from the 60’s, with the mutant talent of power mimicry, possessing the abilities of the 5 original X-Men. He appears here and there over the years as both a hero and villain but wasn’t really worthy of joining my X-Men RemiX project until I discovered his beardy bohemian period.
 

The original look is too close to Cyclops and the Dark X-Men look is too close to Angel. Scruffy Jesus Cal is the only version that feels unique to me. It has nothing to do with how much I spooge over a shaggy hippy!
 

Mimicking Beast, this character is often shown with big fat extremities, something that carries over into my XXX-version. Check it out on Patreon!

Don’t Worry, I’m Alive

Unexpectedly started a day job in May that not only threw a wrench in my art production but also left me profoundly emotionally discombobulated. Juggling that with three major exhibitions back to back this summer and fall led to little to no web posts. 🙁 It’s all thankfully over now so I can get back to drawing and getting out the tons of sexy WIPs I’m working on!
